Sound Pianocrafts is based in Tacoma, Washington and specializes in tuning, maintaining
and restoring acoustic pianos of all kinds, throughout the Puget Sound area.
Phil Glenn, is a Registered Piano
Technician with the Piano Technician's Guild and has been servicing pianos since 1974. He served his apprentiship with
Mr. Mark Wisner, the Service Manager at Kawai America, and also studied under some of Japan's top Artisan
Concert Technicians, during his 6 years at the Yamaha Corporation in Buena Park, CA. Mr. Glenn was also one of the first Americans
to attend the famous Yamaha Technical Academy in Hammamatsu, Japan. Phil went on to become the National Service Manager at
Young Chang America in 1995, where he mentored for several years with Mr. Joseph Pramberger, the former VP of Manufacturing
at Steinway & Son's, New York. Phil assisted Joseph in the development of the Pramberger line of pianos. Over
the years, Phil has been in charge of technical service at the corporate level with brands such as Bechstein, Chickering,
Knabe, Kohler & Campbell, Sohmer, Samick and Weber. Phil is also a practiced instructor. He has presented over
300 classes and seminars throughout the US and Canada to piano technicians, teachers, dealers and consumers.
Phil's
wife, Susan, is an accomplished piano teacher. She is a native of Birmingham, England and studied
at the Royal Academy of Music.
Together, the Glenn's are all about pianos. We can
assist in buying, selling, consigning, piano moving, refinishing and finish repairs as well as tuning, regualtion, voicing,
restoration and piano lessons!
